15 of the most creative souls in the central valley.

Teresa's love of antiques started in high school when she would join her father on trips to the city. She loves finding "old junk" and making it new again. Vintage kids items are a favorite.
DECOR TIP: "Scour books and magazines for new ideas. Buy it first then find a home for it!"

J. Blackbird

Since the opening of VM, this mother-daughter team has inspired many with their signature "blackbird" look. Their passion for life & style is displayed creatively, mixing contemporary goods, vintage finds, industrial wares, and unique treasures hunted far and wide. Favorite decorating tip: Don't be afraid of contrast in your design; pair a chippy white window with a sleek metal table.

Dogwood Designs

This mother and daughter team enjoys the satisfaction that comes with fashioning something of beauty with their hands. Doris is a native of beautiful Virginia, which has the dogwood as its state flower, and hence the name! JUNKING TIP: "Keep your eyes open for the unexpected and don't be afraid to rummage in unlikely places."

The Beachcomber

I love decorating and shopping! Using old and new to make my look unique. With my often reluctant husband who takes me across country for flea markets and vintage shows, asking, what are you going to do with that? (sound familiar?) I try to explain, I love it, and I will figure out what to do with it eventually. Sometimes it takes a while because it's rusty, dirty, and I don't need it,but the light goes on and then it's the perfect piece. I was in Main Street Antiques for 15 years, when the opportunity came to be in
Vintage Market I saw the best of both worlds incorporating old and new.

2 Crafty Chicks

Julie was born and raised in Turlock and is so happy to be able to share her creativity right here on Main Street. She is one half of the card making duo, "2 Crafty Chicks" and also maintains a solo space where she showcases items that her husband Greg has helped her create. Greg has also been key in building display pieces for both spaces. “I really found my creative soulmate when I met my husband, Greg. He has been my right hand on many projects and I really couldn’t do this without his love and support.”. Julie loves to create home decor and gift items using paper and wood. She also loves to create jewelry using found objects and inspirational messages. In addition to her handmade items, Julie has also hand selected goods that compliment her style and her mission “to offer items that will put smiles on the faces of others". She thinks of Vintage Market as her “happy place”.

Some of her favorite things to look for are linens, mirrors, old books, farmhouse and Primitives, old scales and anything else that is fun and interesting. DECOR TIP: "Vintage can be for any age - just have fun and be creative with your own style. Adding vintage finds to a home makes it cozy, collected and unique. Just have fun scouting out those special pieces. A well styled home doesn't happen all at once, but rather one or a few pieces at a time."

As a longtime customer of Vintage Market, I was thrilled to become a part of the creative collective! I love all things timeworn - vintage fabrics & papers, salvaged objects, anything that can be re-imagined for today's homes. So, with a lot of help from my husband for the big stuff and the metal stuff, I hope to create decor that is rustic and elegant, trendy and timeless...all at the same time.

Unique and unusual items are what catches Carolyn's eye. Architectural salvage, decorative antiques and vintage textiles are her specialty. She joined VM when it began, took a few years off and is now back with lots of "1 OF A KIND" items collected over the years!
